Ear Wax Removal Technicians Required

Role description

We are looking for experienced ear wax removal technicians in Newbury, Poole and the South Bristol areas. The successful candidate(s) must be willing to travel between centres and clinics within their geographical location, to provide the company’s ear wax removal service to all patients. They may also be required to attend Hearing Shows on behalf of other centres, within the Imperial Hearing group.

The job role

We are seeking a person who is experienced in or is looking to develop their existing ear wax removal skills.  They will be using all methods such as ear irrigation, manual extraction or micro suction.

The successful candidate will support our growing audiology team based in the West Midlands, South West and the South Coast. This will ensure that the company continually strives and achieves successes, whilst offering a first-class patient service.

This role is key to the success of our business and is income generating.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the required ear wax removal kit to be set up for each patient clinic, ensuring it is working correctly, cleared, and sterilised, as per the required protocol.  Also, to follow all COVID-19 safety policies.

You will meet and greet patients, and assist them with the completion of a H&S questionnaire.  Whereby selecting the most appropriate method of ear wax removal.  You will show the patient the inside of their ear using a video otoscope, both before and after wax removal. It is important that you are able to explain the procedure to them to allay any anxiousness, fears or concerns.

The technician will decide whether the patient needs to return for a follow up or continuation appointment and book this in with the patient directly.  Alternatively you will request that a receptionist/administrator complete this aspect on the same day as the appointment.

You will inform head office when you require additional materials or resources to complete your role in good time, to ensure that clinics are not delayed.

Completing information on the company’s chosen CRM system (Blueprint), you will update the information and payments taken, ensuring that accounts reports are accurate and up to date.

Supporting company events (Hearing Shows or local centre), you will welcome people, explain the workings of their ear in relation to hearing and ear wax build up, and show them the inside of their ear(s) using a video otoscope.  If required, you will make an appointment at the patient’s local centre for an ear wax removal appointment and take the required £35.00 deposit. Equipment will be provided to you by the company (iPad and iZettle).

The successful candidate(s) will be open to learning and developing the role to encompass hearing screening tests using a laptop or audiometer equipment (for which training and equipment will be provided by the company) to establish whether a full hearing consultation is required.

You will support the company’s marketing team in raising awareness of the ear wax removal service by delivering leaflets, posters or engaging with local businesses, and GP surgeries.  Any visits will be pre-agreed with marketing, to ensure suitable collateral is available.

Working as part of the team, if required, you may be asked to occasionally provide receptionist cover in a centre.
