Manual extraction
Manual extraction is a gentle, dry method of removing ear wax. We will examine your ears to confirm that ear wax is present, then explain the procedure so you know exactly what will happen. You will be asked a few questions about your ear health, any perforations of the eardrum and any previous experience you have had with wax removal. Using a light and magnification to see clearly into the ear canal, our clinician carefully lifts the wax out with small specialist instruments, such as a fine curette or probe. No water or suction is used. The process can take from 5 to 20 minutes depending on the amount and position of the wax.
